Demonstrators continue to clash with authorities in Copenhagen

2,500 protesters faced pepper spray and clubs at the United Nations summit. 200 protesters were detained adding to the 1,400 people arrested during rallies in the previous four day.

Danish network TV2 estimates 6,500 of Denmark’s 10,500 police officers are providing security for the talks.

UN member countries have so far failed to agree on amendments to the 1997 Kyoto Protocol climate accord in the talks that started Dec. 7 and which ends on Dec. 18.
