Why did Copenhagen fail?

The Copenhagen summit was attended by 193 countries and attended by 45,000 but the only result was a deal between the US and 4 other nations.

Brazil, South Africa, India and China (BASIC group of countries) were the four contries involved.

The negotiations were aimed at something that was not legally binding but more of a political agreement.

Moreover, even before the summit began, the Danish office put forward a draft political declaration to a select group of "important countries" - thereby annoying every country not on the list, including most of the ones that feel seriously threatened by climate impacts.

Freezing weather was also attributed for lack of conviction about "Global Warming." Political stands taken during the summit were evident.
