
Guy Ritchie, the director of cult hits like Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch. and RocknRolla, has Sherlock Holmes all set for reviews with its release on Christmas Day in the US.
Detective Sherlock Holmes and his stalwart partner Watson engage in a battle of wits and brawn with a nemesis whose plot is a threat to all of England.
The films casts Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man, Tropic Thunder, Chaplin) as Sherlock Holmes, Jude Law (The Talented Mr. Ripley, Cold Mountain) as Dr. John Watson, Rachel McAdams and Mark Strong.
This is Mark Strong's third appearance in a Guy Ritchie movie after Revolver and RocknRolla.
The movie is just over 2 hours.
