Copenhagen: Another summit with violent turns

Another summit, another protest and another violent turn. Around 100,000 protesters were present at the protest carrying signs like "Save the Humans". Some activists wore masks on their faces which is considered illegal under Danish law. Arrests were made.

The aim of conference at Copenhagen is to involve countries reduce their output of greenhouse gases over the coming years. The reference point for the emissions are the 1990's levels.

One of the many dangers is that island states like Maldives, the Seychelles and Tuvalu may disappear with rising sea levels.

It is also imperative to look at how much support rich countries would provide poor ones in order to achieve such a target.

It has always been contentious and a probable positive outcome is hard to come by.
